Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists employs a dedicated, caring and compassionate team of clinical, technical and administrative staff to meet the needs of our cardiac patients. Our staff includes:
- Registered and licensed nurses specializing in cardiology with many years of experience in acute cardiac care. Working with our physicians they provide patients with follow up care, and patient education while coordinating diagnostic, hospital and pharmacy care.
- Nurse practitioners see patients as an extension of our physicians. They manage clinics specializing in Congestive Heart Failure and Lipid Disorders.
- Cardiac Sonographers, certified in adult cardiac echocardiography, perform cardiac ultrasound studies in our certified echocardiography laboratory. As a requirement of employment, all sonographers maintain at least 30 hours of continuing education credits.
- Nuclear Medicine Technologists are certified in nuclear medicine and support our board certified nuclear physicians in stress testing and radioisotope imaging. As a requirement of employment, all nuclear technologists maintain at least 30 hours of continuing education credits.
- Vascular technologists are registered through the American Radiological Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with advanced training in peripheral vascular technology. Maintaining at least 30 hours of continuing education credits, our technologist is praised as one of the best in the city.
- Research Registered Nurses collaborate with our physicians providing research studies to our patients. The research staff follows up with patients and distributes required medication. Integrity of data collection and regulatory documentation are of utmost importance to our patients' safety.
- Cardiac technicians are trained to assist clinical personnel and physicians with exercise echocardiograms, pacemaker checks, electrocardiograms and holter monitors.
- Clerical, business office and administrative staff are highly trained professionals to ensure our patients' records, financial statements and other business concerns are completed with utmost patient satisfaction.
